Thank God. Microsoft seems to be slowly getting it. After responding to 'consumer pressure' they have decided to release advanced notification of the security updates they release on the second Tuesday of every month.
Thus instead of the mad scramble to apply patches when the attacker has had it for a while. Microsoft will tell you how they are busy hacking your network. Ok that isn't very charitable. Organisation will have some warning to get everything in place. Given that 90% of the path management queries seem to be problems actually installing the patch, I think this notification will only help from an organisational procedure and threat analysis perspective.
