Exciting Snort Updates

The snort community is doing some good things at them moment. First off the snort signature community is maturing and are looking to merge Bleeding Snort and Sourcefire/Snort.org into a single sig community. Next is a project to collect Spyware User-Agent strings. This will be usefull for all sorts of things. In a similar vein a blackhole DNS project has been started for Spyware domains. They are targetting spyware only, not ads. Snort really is showing off its flexibility and usefulness. If you want a very good IDS for your organisation, here are some great presentation on how to set it up.
