We have had a very positive meeting with Demsoc. They are in violation of the societies policy at http://src.ru.ac.za/policies/soc_policy.pdf . To remedy this they are going to present us with a new society proposal draft this Monday, this proposal may not use 'parties' as a justification. The final version will be ready by Thursday. This is when the Student Forum is. Here the SRC will open a general meeting and ask for recomendations from the student body on whether to accept the new society.

We also asked Demsoc to draw up a policy on how they will ensure student saftey and well being at their parties. This includes party security (bouncers), party integrity (security guards), student health (transport, ambulance etc.). They were very clued up about this already.

So we await their proposal. They were very keen to come up with something and had some great ideas.
