Daniela and I saw hero tonight. It is a great movie with stunning visuals. The story is full of honour and courage, which was in sharp contrast to the drunk girl who spilled out of the drivers seat of a parked car outside the cinema. She got up and started scream "Kwar Paaaarty!". It took me a while to realise that she meant 'car party'. She then stumbled back into the car (we checked to make sure she wasn't driving off) and started playing loud music. As Daniela and I rounded the corner I caught the lyrics: "We were meant for so much more, but lost ourselves."
UPDATE: While walking home from our late night shopping at BP I saw a tiny pair of legs sticking out from a box of wine. I asked Danni what 'it' was and she said it was a pile of trash. I looked a little closer and realised it was a little kid huddling with a wine box over his head for warmth. He looked absolutely frozen and we gave him everything we had bought, this wasn't so much a good deed as a moral obligation. What about tomorrow night or the night after that? Looking around we were surrounded by drunk people stumbling home. If each of them had spent R10 less tonight, something huge could be done. I have done the same thing, gone out drank too much and spent too much money. Where did the human race become so selfish and uncaring.
