I read this article in a South African newspaper the Mail & Guardian. I was excited about it as Chomsky is made out to be a sort of intellectual god and statements to the contrary would be interesting in grounding my perception. It evoked quite a backlash mostly because it was poorly written and had some horrible non-sequiturs. The guardian has since published a retraction and both Chomsky and Alexander Cockburn have a great rebuttal. Poor Emma Brockes.
